GUARANTEED INCOME GRANT
The Alameda County Social Services Agency is pleased to announce the Community Well-Being Initiative, funded through the generous support of the Hellman Foundation. The purpose of this initiative is to augment currently established Guaranteed Income programs serving Alameda County residents. The main goal is to support and strengthen existing programs to help residents achieve greater economic opportunities, improve education outcomes, and enhance health.
Grant Purpose
Funding is intended to expand the impact of current Guaranteed Income programs by providing support to existing programs, allowing them to:
- Increase the number of participants enrolled in the program
- Extend the duration of time participants receive guaranteed income
- Increase the monthly payment amount received by program participants
Grant Awards
- Up to 3 grant awards will be given.
- Grant amounts shall not exceed $175,000 per organization.
- Final award amounts will depend on the number of eligible applicants, application evaluations, and availability of funds.
Note: By applying to this grant program, applicants are not guaranteed to receive award funds.
Eligibility Criteria — Who Can Apply?
Organizations must meet the following requirements to apply:
- Currently conducting a Guaranteed Income program or in the process of launching an additional cohort supporting Alameda County residents who are asset-limited, income-constrained, and fall into at least one of the following categories:
- Families with at least one small child (ages 0–8)
- Youth transitioning out of the foster care and/or juvenile justice system
- Senior citizens
- Pregnant individuals at highest risk of preterm birth
- Located in Alameda County with a physical address within the county
- A nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status or functioning like a nonprofit with a fiscal sponsor
- Document Submission Requirement:
- Federal Tax-Exempt Status Letter.
- If using a fiscal sponsor, applicants must submit the fiscal sponsor’s Federal Tax-Exempt Status Letter and Fiscal Sponsorship Agreement.
- Be an Alameda County Registered Vendor – You do not need to be a registered vendor in order to apply; however, if your application is selected, you must register to receive payment. Registration can be completed by submitting a W-9 Form (IRS Version Rev. March 2024, signed and dated in 2025), applicants are encouraged to submit the form with their application.

Note: Failure to complete this requirement will disqualify applicant from receiving funds.
Evaluation Process
Applications will be reviewed by the Alameda County Social Services Agency’s Grant Review Committee, which includes Agency staff, community representatives, and other qualified reviewers with relevant expertise.
- Grant awards will be recommended by the Committee to the Director of SSA for final approval.
- All funding decisions are final. There will be no appeal process.
- Late applications will not be accepted.
