COVID-19 Update
For Foster Care / Extended Foster Care Recipients: If the answer is “yes” to any of the questions, you are encouraged to contact your doctor and let them know about your symptoms and/or exposure. The Child Welfare Worker will make alternate plans to accomplish the purpose of the contact and ensure the child’s health, safety and wellbeing.
Child Welfare Workers continue to provide essential services. To protect public health, Child Welfare Workers are conducting pre-screening telephone calls before making monthly in-person visits with children in foster care. Our staff are asking you to answer yes or no to a few questions, so that we can provide appropriate services to you and your family:
When in-person visits are necessary, Child Welfare Workers are equipped with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and practice safe social distancing to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Likewise, clients and caregivers are asked to wear face coverings and to follow safe social distancing guidelines.
Lobbies at 675 Hegenberger, Oakland and 24100 Amador, Hayward are temporarily closed to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Our lobby at 1111 Jackson St., Oakland, is open by appointment only for some family visits and LiveScan fingerprinting. Face coverings are required for entry into the building.
Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings will be held via Conference Call until further notice.
