Season of Sharing
One-time assistance to help people experiencing an unexpected housing crisis
What is Season of Sharing?
The Chronicle Season of Sharing Fund provides temporary assistance to help people living in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties. Since 1986, the Chronicle Season of Sharing Fund has distributed more than $185 million to help individuals and families in need.
The Chronicle SOS Fund provides annual funding to the Alameda County Social Services Agency to assist eligible households in Alameda County who are experiencing an emergency, crisis, or unexpected event that threatens housing stability. The principal purpose of the Season of Sharing Fund program is to keep people stably in their homes or support transition into more affordable, safe, permanent housing. The Social Services Agency collaborates with numerous community partner agencies to screen and process applications for assistance.

"The Season of Sharing helped me breathe a little easier. It gave us both a break. I'm extremely grateful. I don't know what we would have done without it."
