Services Offered

Program activities are offered by Alameda County Social Services Agency or community partners.

Participants will work with their Employment Counselor to get connected to any of the following services offered:

Job Search Support

Get help to find a job, discover and market your job skills, write a resume, and improve and practice your job interview skills. Participate in workshops and get advice from a career counselor.

Job Placement and Job Retention

Get connected to potential employers interested in hiring new workers in your field of interest. After you are hired, you have the option to continue receiving career counseling and supportive services from CalFresh E&T to help you stay successful in your new job.

Education

Get connected to classes and programs in community college, adult school, ESL (English as Second Language), GED certification or high school diploma completion, or other short-term education programs that meet your needs and goals.

Job Training and Work Experience

Sign up for any of a variety of job training and work experience programs that interest you. Programs cover a range of job industries, including:

health care industry jobs (e.g. community health worker, health navigator, etc.)
light manufacturing social enterprise
graphic design social enterprise
urban arts merchandise design and production
K-12 after-school education
culinary and food services jobs
construction and solar photovoltaic systems
banking and financial services
community clean-up and beautification

Workfare

Gain valuable jobs skills and relationships at a work site to complete public service volunteer work to fulfill your work requirement for CalFresh.
